Bio

Our children are our future. Adam is passionate to ensure they are given the best start in life and supported to maximise their potential. His work centres around creating the optimal environment to deliver transformational child health research and ensure a sustainable pipeline of child health researchers.

Adam splits his time between clinical medicine and research:

  • He is a consultant paediatric oncologist in Leeds. His specialist interests are the late effects and long term follow up of young people living with and beyond cancer and life threatening haematological conditions.
  • He is Director of CHORAL, Research Lead for Leeds Children’s Hospital and Director of the Leeds NIHR Children’s Clinical Research Facility (CRF).

As a Professor of Paediatric Oncology and Late Effects Medicine at the University of Leeds, Adam leads a research team focussing on identification of the consequences of living with and beyond cancer. He is the Medical Director and co-principal investigator of the Yorkshire Specialist Register of Cancer in Children and Young People.
