Children’s Cancer Translational Research
Driving evidence-based improvements in outcomes for children and young people living with and beyond cancer.
Sue joined the University of Leeds in 1992 and is the scientific director of the Children’s Cancer Research Group at St James’s University Hospital. Sue’s primary research interest is metastatic drug-resistant disease that poses the most difficult challenge for the management and successful treatment of many children and young people with cancer. Her focus is the development of strategies to detect and eradicate the cells responsible for progression and relapse in neuroblastoma and Ewing sarcoma. Sue’s leadership in multi-disciplinary collaborative groups includes shaping international strategies for the evaluation of circulating biomarkers in these cancers.
