Claudia is an NIHR Doctoral Research Fellow and senior specialty trainee in Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Leeds & Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust. Her research focuses on the prevention of painful mouth ulcers (oral mucositis) in children and young people receiving cancer and stem cell transplant treatments. Her NIHR Doctoral Research Fellowship aims to improve adoption and availability of a light treatment (photobiomodulation) to reduce the incidence of painful mouth ulcers during cancer and transplant treatments (www.leedsPBM.com). She works closely with children and young people with cancer, and their families, to deliver her research. Clinically, she is passionate about the oral health of children and young people with complex medical conditions and the integration of this into their wider care.
