Lynne Schofield

Bio

Lynne is a children's respiratory physiotherapist and the research lead for adult physiotherapy at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Lynne completed an NIHR funded PhD which explored the personalisation of airway clearance techniques in children with a respiratory condition using Ventilation MRI. The findings from her exploratory PhD study provide a foundation for further work aiming to optimise the personalisation of treatments in chronic suppurative lung diseases.

During her CHORAL post-doc fellowship Lynne aims to develop a competitive application for further research development funding, with key activiites including:

  • Disseminating work to date through peer-reviewed publications and presentations
  • Undertaking further work to better understand the impact of PCD
  • Building research leadership skills
  • Working with young people and their families to develop plans for further research.

Lynne aspires to be an academic clinician, using research to improve the lives of children and young people. As a future leader of child health research, she welcomes the opportunity to support other child health researchers on their journey.
