CHILD-LINK (Child oral Health Improvement utiLising Data LINKage)

CHILD-LINK is an NIHR-funded PhD research study being undertaken by Erin Giles (a Paediatric Dentist) and team.

The study aims to estimate the effect of wider social determinants on childhood caries, dental care access, and involvement in community-level oral health interventions, using linked dental data from the “Born in Bradford” family of birth cohorts.

The research will use innovative and rigorous causal inference methodologies to enhance our understanding of the causes driving dental outcomes. The findings will be used to co-produce recommendations to improve community-level oral health interventions, to improve their inclusivity, availability and accessibility.
