At CHORAL, we want to develop a pipeline of talented child health researchers. We have funding to support aspiring candidates who wish to develop their clinical academic careers in child health research through two schemes:
Pre-doctoral research fellowships
- This opportunity is available for medics, allied health professionals, nurses, midwifes, pharmacists, dental technicians, or healthcare scientists.
- We will support you by providing protected time which will allow you to submit a competitive doctoral fellowship application.
- Funding is available to provide salary backfill for the successful candidates. The amount available is dependent on professional group and current salary grade or AFC appointment.
- There is a career development budget of £1,000 for each successful fellow.
- You must be an employee of Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, or on rotation at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust working in child health related research.
- This fellowship will be completed at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and The University of Leeds.

Post-doctoral research fellowships
- This opportunity is for healthcare professionals (e.g. allied health professional, nurse, midwife, pharmacist, healthcare scientist. Not dentists or medics).
- We will support the successful candidate by providing protected time to prepare for a competitive post-doctoral fellowship in addition to continuing with their clinical career.
- A maximum of £30,000 funding is available to support salary backfill.
- There is a career development budget of £1,000 for each successful fellow.
- Applicants must be an employee of Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, working in child health related research.

The CHORAL Fellowship funding is allocated to allow the award holder to develop a competitive funding application. This follow-on funding application must be led by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and the University of Leeds
