Child Health Outcomes Research at Leeds (CHORAL) is an exciting new network of child health researchers and allied professionals across University of Leeds, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and the wider region.
We have two annual prize schemes to encourage and promote world leading child health research in Leeds.
Postgraduate award
We are offering two prizes for child health research outputs from post-graduates. We invite applications from post-graduates from any background who have published a paper, or presented a poster or oral presentation at a conference or seminar related to child health, within the past year.
As part of the application process, we will ask for your name, email, a short paragraph outlining the work, and an attachment containing the work itself.
Applicants must be an employee of University of Leeds or Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Every year we award two prizes of £200 in LoveToShop vouchers.
Next scheme due to open: December 2024, to be announced in February 2025.

- Dr Jessica Morgan, for her relapsed and refractory rhabdomyosarcoma systematic review paper.
- Layla Kouara, for her poster detailing her citizen science approach taking EEGs out of the lab and into schools.
Undergraduate award
The undergraduate prize scheme will be awarded to University of Leeds/Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust researchers that fall within the following categories:
- nursing students
- health care professional students
- medical students
- academic undergraduate student prize for any student outside of the other 3 categories (e.g. psychology, education, epidemiology, lab-based etc)
Students can submit any piece of undergraduate work they have produced related to child health in the past academic year.
As part of the application process, we will ask for your name, email, a short paragraph outlining your work, and an attachment containing the work itself.
There are prizes on offer in each category of £50 in LoveToShop vouchers.
